Mike Knauer

Executive Creative Director

The managing partner at ImMedia, Mike is responsible for the overall creative supervision and account management for ImMedia. Mike not only plays the roll of the ultimate arbiter of taste and strategic development, but also has the technical knowledge to do it himself when called on. Prior to ImMedia, Mike had managed projects and clients ranging from the Department of Defense Polytechnic Institute, McDonalds, Mercedes, Caterpillar, Tellabs and many more. Mike started his career in 1992 as an illustrator and graphic artist, then later helped launch Subterfuge Studios, a small Chicago-based ad agency, where he rose to position of Creative Director and later managing partner.

Mike lives in Chicago's Lakeview area and plays drums for several popular bands and recording artists. Mike also likes people to buy him strawberry daiquiris and give him money (he knows people never read these, and although he has doubts that it will have any effect, he figures what the hell it’s worth a try).

Nik van der Ploeg

Director of IT and Technology

Nik is the other founding partner of ImMedia. After slaving away in the "corporate" world, he decided to put his web development and system administration skills to better use as ImMedia's Director of Technology.

Nik lives in Chicago's Lakeview community. He spends a small portion of his free time doing physical activities like playing basketball, tennis and racquetball, and spends the rest of it on the most sedentary activities he can find.

Tim Lofgren

Creative Director

Tim Lofgren brings an energetic enthusiasm and more than 10 years of experience to the ImMedia team, specializing in commercial photography and video  production, while managing various creative print and web advertising campaigns.  With a focus on Brand  and Identity Development, Tim also works with clients through all stages of the creative process to increase revenue by assessing a company's target market and enhancing the development of their brand loyalty concepts.  Tim has managed the creative direction on many high-profile clients, such as Miller Lite, Heinemann Bakeries, Willy Wonka Candy Company, American Cancer Society and T-Mobile.

Tim has a busy existence in Chicago's Ravenswood neighborhood. In his spare time he produces highly acclaimed electronic music, builds and markets his own line of custom-made midi controlled music devices, as well as  creates and exhibits original mixed media paintings, 3D holograms and plush dolls (and while we aren't certain, we are somewhat positive there are no tea parties involved).
